Implementación De La Ley Nacional N.° 27.279 De Envases Vacíos De Fitosanitarios En La Provincia De Buenos Aires

Abstract

The use of phytosanitary products for productive tasks in Argentine agriculture generates a huge volume of empty phytosanitary containers that must be managed properly. The Provincial Organization for Sustainable Development of the Province of Buenos Aires (OPDS) is the public body in charge of supervising and exercising the actions that contribute to sustainable development and the implementation of public policies that allow the management of this type of waste to be do it in a framework that does not generate a negative environmental impact. Specifically, it has been designated as a provincial Competent Authority for the application of national law N°27.279/16 on “Minimum Budgets for Environmental Protection for the Management of Empty Phytosanitary Containers”. In 2019 it sanctioned Resolution N°505, which defines the parameters for the integral and differential management of empty phytosanitary containers, emphasizing differentiated management, traceability, Triple Washing, Good Agricultural Practices and the creation of Centers of Transitory Storage (CAT in spanish) and Local Management Logistics Nodes (NL) that allow receiving, conditioning, storing and diverting the empty containers to the recovery or final disposal channels, and in this way ensure that the recycled material is used for the elaboration of authorized products in qualified industries.
